Sissinghurst Castle - has a very rich history and world class gardens. The gardens were created by writer and poet Vita Sackville-West and her diplomat husband Harold Nicolson in the 1930s. Set in a 450 acre estate, the castle itself was once a prison in the 1700s and later a women’s land army base. This is a working farm and the gardens are constantly being upkeep to the highest standards (8 miles)
